Punta San Carlos Kite surfing

Kite boarding and Tow-in surfing are the newest sports to hit the water at San Carlos. Kite surfing is in its infancy and it seems that in the course of a year there are radically new technologies that advance the sport, pushing the envelope of performance.

Kite Surfing requires special surf oriented equipment to maximize performance. It also requires a different paradigm of maneuver to compensate for the side off the wind conditions.

The unique conditions of San Carlos require an intermediate to advanced ability level.

As with windsurfing, there all of the main spots support kite surfing. The Beach Break is great for those first timers who wish to ease on into the pool or polish their wave riding skills. The Bombora offers excellent ramps for sic jumps and a quick in and out backdoor wave ride.

The Point and the Chili Bowl are for advanced kite surfers. This is the essence of the wave riding experience. The winds are more side-off requiring a perfected kite surfing style.
