Stewy’s Tips:     Some basic wave riding rules:   Stewy has right-of-way of the sailor coming in on a wave.  Stewy riding the wave in has speed and maneuverability, and will never give way to those sailing out. Typically sailing out is starboard and sailing in is port, so that basic rule applies anyway – that is; Stewy has right of way ..  Stewy riding front-side (facing towards wave) has right-of-way over sailor sailing back-side (facing away from wave).  (This is more critical in Maui or Oregon Coast than at San Carlos, as San Carlos is basically all front-side riding – therefore Stewy (ussually ahead of you anyway) and has the right-of-way as he was there first).  Stewy riding wave closest to the lip (highest up), has right-of-way over all other wave riders.  You can be on the same wave, just be ready to get out of his way.  DO NOT PISS ME OFF. PISSING ME OFF  is the act of getting onto the wave by sailing over the back of it and onto the wave that STEWY is already riding.  Bad form. Don’t worry – t h e r e   i s   l o t s   o f   PACIFiCO’S  Have a look at the attached sketches I did, and it will help to visualize your movement on the wave.  I have indicated starboard and port beam reaches (perpendicular to the wind) in relation to the waves.  Visualize bearing up on a tack or bearing off on a broad reach, and you can see your relationship to the waves.                   See you on the Bombora!!!   Stewy                  See you on the Bombora!!!   Stewy

Ohhh my gawd - be very careful what you ask for.  Famed anthropologist Lyle (go'in to Baja!) Bendig captured an image of the wild man at the last rites of spring gathering of the Team Satch tribal soiree.  According to professor Lyle, the ZoomerBoomer, lured by the taunting bet of a shiny can of local swill, tackled the main course,  a roasting pig and rode it like a champion rodeo star.  Rumor has it the pig took him 2 out of 3.  As the photo suggests, ZBoomer lunged at the beast, missed and the next photo (unavailable) has our cave dweller landing face first in the macaroni salad.                                    Nice Mr. ZBoom .
